I usually work on Avaya / Nortel this clinet had a simple move of their Vodavi and everything went just fine except the CID will no longer display on the sets.

I have confirmed that the CO is sending the CID info via my test set but nothing on the displays.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

When you checked with the butt set did you have a cid grabber butt set or just heard the tones?

Check it at the CO Port with a caller id box.

Verify that there are no additional jacks on the trunks that might load down the signal.

Verify the programming (what model/version of vodavi do you have)?

Just last night I found out about this CID box. I thought that CID was part of the KSU.

I wondered what this extra box was about it had no markings on it saying it was a CID interface.

I pulled pic off the website and it might be that I installed the interface ribbon cable on the wrong port. I think I placed it on the RIGHT port and not the left.

DO you know the port assignemt for this unit?

If I placed it on the wrong port have I damaged anything by doing so> Also, should I power down again before changing the ribbon cable or can I HOT swap it?

What do you think about the Vodavi line? I work on Avaya and Nortel most times.

Thanks!

Hi again, well i was pretty simple to reconnect the nterface. I had connect a new feeder cable from the CO and it did not terminate on the same location as before which was were the CID Mod was punched down to.

CID cam right up. However on teh sets they have a button marked "114" which when lit supplies both name and number when not lit only supplies number.

Most of the sets have this button programmed but some don't \. I assume that this must be a Feature toggle button a CID Display feature of some sorts.

I believe this is a Vodavi Infinate? How do I locate the MN and SW and program these buttons to show name and number.

Better yet do you have a link for the Install and programming manual? Will it be on pdf.textfies.com ?

Thanks!

its been quite awhile.. but I believe you hit Speed 2x then the button you want it to be programmed to, 653 is the code you want to tie to that button

Speed+Speed+Button+653 and you should get a quick dual tone back for confirmation.
