CICS won't boot

i have a cics running 4.2 s/w fine. i have upgrade the system to 6.0 but each time i put the 6.0 cartridge in the system, nothing happens. the system never comes up at all, the phones just flash for like an hour until i've had enough and shut it off. someone told me put the 4.2 back in, do a startup on the ksu, wipe out everything and then uplug the ksu 10 seconds after it says applying template. i've tried that it, same problem.

any ideas, i need to get this working.

So, does the 4.2 come up?
There were a bunch of 6.0 carts. that shipped out blank. I might have one of them.
