CICs ver 2 to Ver 6.xx upgrade..with restore ?????

I have to back up a cics unit...upgrade to latest greatest software version in order to add Callpilot unit.
Question...can I do a restore from my ver 2 backup to the new version 6.xx? evertime I do a major jump in versions I loose everything and have to program from scratch.This time I'd like to backup what I have and then upgrade to latest...then restore data from last version...Is this possible?I'm using NRU.

What do you mean by version 2? CICS starts at 1.0 and up, do you mean 2.0?
You can get an upgrade kit that will allow you to do the big jump, lets say if you have 2.0 then power down and pull out software, put in Kit software power up then power down and put in 6.1 and thats it, upgrade will take 5 minutes.
The Kit can be use over and over also on other KSU's so money well spent!

Bloody hell.....sorry I missed you mention CICS not MICS, you only need the Upgrade Tool for the MICS, you should be able to power down a CICS 1.0 and upgrade to 6.1 without a problem.
