cics upgrade

can someone tell me what exactly is required to upgrade a cics from a 4 x 8 to an 8 x 16 then to an 8 x 24 ? is it just a software change and add a line card if so do i have to reprogram my entire system?

If you have unrestricted s/w just add a line card. For the last 8 stations you must buy an 8 station module, it plugs in to the left of the line cards.

What is the version of s/w you have now?

As long as you go up in versions you won't lose your programming
