Hi all

I went ahead and purchased a (used) CICS system, setup it all up and configured it, was working great. I was on my first long phone call, and when I hungup, the lights on the m7310 started blinking and wouldn't respond to anything.

Then I looked at the KSU and it started clicking, and finally the power light (green) starting blinking on and off as if I was jiggling the power cord on it.

I took all the cards out and let the system cool down overnight, and the power light is still blinking. No power to the phones and I can hear a faint "click click" on the receiver. I tried it with no cards or lines plugged into it and the power light still blinks...

It is kind of disappointing to set this whole thing up and have it die like this.

Is there anything I can check or do before I throw this thing out and buy a whole new KSU?

Thanks for any help!

Make sure all connections are seated firmly. If still does not work you probably have a bad power supply in KSU. Also try moving KSU to different AC outlet and test.

Good Luck!!

Checked all the connections and all are good.

I have a new trunk cartridge and software. Is it possible for me to buy JUST the power supply or JUST the KSU (without the cards).

I hate to have to buy another trunk cartridge included with a system when I already have one that was working.

Thanks

You can buy just KSU(no software), but can you send that unit back for exchange/repair. Most places will replace if defective, unless you got it on ebay.

Yup, bought it on ebay.. I guess i'm SOL

I just took it apart, and there is something in the power supply that is "ticking" in sequence with the power light blinking on and off.

Any suggestions in the right direction to look for just the KSU (minus software and trunk cartridge) ?

Thanks

Not the problem in your case, since you are getting clicking at least, but a general reminder to all that the power to the CICS is fused, and you will find it just behind the power plug area. I have had some units returned, and the fuse was the only problem. I have not seen one clicking and flashing like you describe.
