I have a CICS w/DR5 & SP: 30AGK01 NAT

I have performed F**STARTUP as a square system

The stations can be used as intercoms, but I cannot get dial tone on any line.

I have dial tone at RJ11 #1.

when I press 'Line 1' on a phone, I get dead air

on a second phone, i go to
Maint-->Port/DN status-->P201:L001-->State

it changes from idle to busy when i access/release line 1 on the other phone (the relays click also as i do this - in the NT7B58AA box)

the relays (in the flat box - NT5B01FD) also click when i call from an outside line to the number on RJ11 #1, but no indication on any phone that the line is ringing

any help is much appreciated...

Have you got dial tone from your telco?Have you connected dial tone to the CICS?
ON startup every phone will get access to the first two telephone lines they will also ring on an incoming call.

Make sure you have the lines cross connected correctly. Check the FAQ area of this forum, I believe there is a wiring doc there.

Also, do a Feature * 0 and press the button labled line 1, does it verify that line 1 is assigned there. Sometimes the way the buttons come on the phone isn't how the lines are actually assigned. MRoberts

Do you have bridging clips on the 66 blocks ( if you are using 66 blocks) I know this sounds stupid but I have a lot of installers that forget to do that.

I would definitely check your wiring first. but here is another possibility, make sure you have your handset cord into the handset jack NOT the headset jack. I know this sounds minor, but I've had many customers tell me this exact problem and this was their problem. I hope yours is as simple to fix.

Try using the handsfree button (speakerphone) and see if it is a handset problem.
