Hey Folks, had a strange one today. Installed CICS/6.1 One CLID card one LS/DS. When calling line one, 5 rings inbound hit fax/modem squeel. There was no Hunt/Equiv group from the Telco on this line nor was their voicemail. I confirmed w/Telco it wasn't forwarded in thier switch to another TN. Two sets plugged in, and no fax machine present. They had a total of 5 lines but had Telco Voicemail on the other 4 with CFDA picking up on 3 rings so I couldn't test(unless I called them to change the amount rings). I disconnected 221 from the bix and the same thing happened. Did I miss something in proramming that would cause this to occur? I'm not familiar w/IRAD...not sure if that relates to this trouble. Hope someone can help.Cheers

i had the same problem today as well. Disable the IRAD from answering the line.

I think it is probably your IRAD. I have set up a couple of CIC's recently where I noticed the IRAD was defaulted to auto answer line 1 (and I thought to myself- good thing I checked that.) So check the IRAD programming- make it is auto answer=no or none.

Thats what the trouble was...I won't forget to check that again. It cost me a field visit, and a hours worth of trouble shooting. At least its resolved. I can see some other installers getting call backs on this one. I didn't realize it because there was a physical answering machine punched down to line 1 that picked up after 4 rings..
Thanks all...

We had that happen on the first 6.0 setup we did. for some reason the default seems to be to IRAD answer line 1 five rings.

told the customer they had to answer faster! (no sense of humor at banks!)

If voting could really change things, it would be illegal.
