Hunt group 290:
Members: 221,222,223,224,225
Lines assigned: none
Overflow to 290
Mode: Broadcast
If busy: Queue
Q Timeout: 180

I want this hunt group to ring until someone answers it, or at least as long as possible. It's only ringing for about 20 seconds then dropping to the system message (the person...unavailable).

Thanks for your help!

When I try to change the overflow number, it requires an entry. What should I put there? It doesn't allow me the 'next' past that entry.

change the que timeout to the highest setting I think that's something like 180 seconds and have the Hunt Group over flow to itself.

hawks: That's how it is set. When I call in to test it, it rings for about 30 seconds, then goes to the system message (not available). It's like there is another setting somewhere that is overriding the hunt group timeout.

(the person...unavailable)"

Did you read my answer in your other post? you didn't answer it!

Sort that out then play with Overflow.

If you are using AA then your problem is the Transfer Callback setting. Any call that is transferred will return to whoever transferred the call after so many rings. In this case your Flash transferred the call. The most you can set this at is 12 rings and it is set under SYSTEM PROGRAMMING. The Hunt Group time out is if a call comes directly to the Hunt Group DN without any type of transfers. That's why your 180 setting is not working.

curly: yes, sorry I didn't answer directly. I went ahead and suggested closing that thread before I opened this one because I decided to skip the overflow to an extension and go for just ringing away.

I had to change the "transfer callback" setting to 12 in order for the HG to keep ringing.

Again, please accept my apology for not answering directly. I really do appreciate that you (and all the others) volunteer your time to answer these posts.

hawks: Thanks...I figured that out just before I read your post.

I presumed you had tried that already as Haws mentioned that in first reply/thread.

So it works then?
What about overflow to the right place now?

It doesn't overflow at all. It rings for 12 rings, then goes to the system (the person...unavailable) message.

I have another HG (HG2-x291) that I had to set up a phantom MB 291 (with overflow to 235) in order for it to overflow properly. I could get it to overflow to an extension, but the VM on the extension wouldn't pick up (after no answer it went to the system message).

I think I am trying to get the system to do something it just can't do.
