I have a client with a CICS 6.1 and CP100 3.1. Client said calls keep dropping. Have changed out the trunk card (they have only 3 lines with Rogers who says it's a phone system problem)and didn't hear from them for a while. They called in recently and said they still have calls dropping, the trouble never went away. They have made arrangements for me to meet a Rogers tech on site. I know we'll be playing the blame game and I'm sort of at a loss. In 17 years as a Norstar tech I have encountered dropped calls a number of times and it has always, ALWAYS been a telco issue. Other than a bad trunk card does anyone know of issues with a CICS that would cause calls to drop?

I tell clients 99% of time its a carrier issue, I can start replacing parts at your cost or you can lie to the carrier and say we replaced the whole system.

I would put my money behind a Nortel system over Roger's. had a doctor's off once and putting calls on hold would cause the call to be dropped, Roger's fault even though they blamed the Nortel system, stand firm.

I dont know who Roger's is i reckon its a local telco, do a loop current test
make sure the lines arent to "hot". good luck
