Had a strange problem that happened to me once (so far) on a CICS 6.1 system. Wanted to know if anyone else had the same thing happen to them, and if so, if it means that I have a defective part.
I started to have problems dialing out numbers from any set on the system. At first I assumed it was the CO line, so I plugged a standard phone into the POTS line and was able to dial out without problem.
I reconnected the CICS, and the problem still existed.
I placed a butt set on the line to see if I could hear what the problem was. What I discovered was that anytime the system transmitted a "1" DTMF tone, it was not the proper DTMF tone, but a single frequency.
None of the other transmitted digits had that issue.
I reboot the system, and all was fine.
Is this a problem that sometimes happens with 6.1 or a DS/CID copper card?
Has anyone else had this happen to them before?
I am trying to determine if I need to swap out my line card, or worse, KSU.
Any ideas would be helpful.
This happened about a month ago, and has yet to happen again.
