Hello

We have a Nortel CICS system. When a particular incoming line is dialed one particular extenion rings. All the other extensions are silent but get a a flashing light. Can anyone tell us where we can find that configuration setting?

How can we configure a particular incoming line to ring to a particular set of extensions?

Regards,
Georgws

Go into system programming (terminal & sets) and assign the line to appear and ring on all sets instead of just appear.

a note of caution: When you change the ringing pattern like noted above make sure that the individual telephones are NOT set to forward on busy to voicemail and are set to forward to VM at an equal number or higher than the auto attendent picks up the call. consequences are that if your individual phones count the rings and meet their forward to voicemail conditions the call will go to one of the phones that is ringing (not always the same mailbox either)

Or if you want to get a little more complicated, you could use answer dn's, or hunt groups to acheive the same thing.

These methods have advantages, too, but are a little more tricky to set up.

Hi Dasheen. Thanks for your asistance but I am a bit confused. "System prgrming" and "Terminal&Sets" are two different options for the CIC. Where should I go?

Hi RikRodgers. I am using hunt groups. But I am still having problems.

This is how I have teh hunt groups defined:

For the first hunt group:
1. Under "System prgrming", I select "Hunt Groups".
2. I select the first hunt group which is 290.
3. Under Hunt Group 290, I select "Member DNs".
4. I add the following "Member DNs" and give the the following settings:
201, 206, 207, 208, 209, 210, 211 -> "Appr"
202, 203, 205 -> "Appr&Ring"
5. Under "Line Assignment", lines L001 to L004 and L031 to L033 are all assigned.
6. "Mode" -> Broadcast
7. "If busy" -> "Queue"
8. "Q Timeout" -> 60
9. "Overflow"-> 290
10. "Name" -> Main
11. "Aux. ringer" -> N
12. "Dstnct rng": None

This hunt group works fine.

For the second hunt group:
1. Under "System prgrming", I select "Hunt Groups".
2. I select the second hunt group which is 291.
3. Under Hunt Group 291, I select "Member DNs".
4. I add the following "Member DNs" and give the the following settings:
206, 208, 209 -> "Appr"
201, 202, 203, 205, 207, 210, 211 -> "Appr&Ring"
5. Under "Line Assignment" only line L034 is assigned.
6. "Mode" -> Broadcast
7. "If busy" -> "Queue"
8. "Q Timeout" -> 60
9. "Overflow"-> 291
10. "Name" -> Special
11. "Aux. ringer" -> N
12. "Dstnct rng": 2

This hunt group does not work. When a call is made to the number on L034, all DNs light up but do NOT ring EXCEPT for DN 206. That extension rings and lights up.

Any idea what other setting could be causing it to behave this way?

Regards,
Georges

If Lines 1-34 are Assigned to any of the phones under
line assignment that are in the groups
They should be AP Only. On all Phones in the Groups.

If No Lines Are Assigned under line assignment then
all Phones In the Groups should Have at Least two Intercom Buttons.

I noticed in the 2nd Group 206 is the only One that Rings
Strange since you show 206 to AP only

What Set is the Prime Set for Lines

The Line Assignment I'm talking about is where you Assign the Lines to each Station
