OK, this is wierd.
I have a CICS installed in a large house. The owner has a electronic gate with a keypad. When the person at the gate pushes the pound key, it rings the phone and if the owner is on the phone in the house on another call, they can press the hookswitch, enter the open code (9) and the gate opens. Works great.
If the owner is on another call on speakerphone, as opposed to the handset, they cannot open the gate.
I thought the link button that I programmed for them to pick up call waiting calls would work the same way. But it does not. Actually neither phone can use the LINK button to do this. It appears that only the hookswitch allows them to be able to open the gate.
The LINK button works perfectly for picking up the call waiting calls.
The owner does not want to have to pick up the handset to be able to open the gate (no comment).
Does anyone have an idea on this issue? I thought maybe changing the link timer might help. But I don't know what it should be set at, or if I should change it at all.
What say you phone gurus?
