Cics/call pilot/ valcom intercom system, intercom calls going to GD mailbox

Hello Norstar Gurus, I have a Cics Rls. 7.0 and a call pilot 100 installed in a private school.
I have a valcom talk back intercom, they use to call each class room etc.
They have installed a gate with electric lock and cameras, and a door box.
the intercom system is connected to line 031. when the button on the door box
is pressed the line rings. problem is the call goes to voice mail as any
ringing line would.
I would like to route the call to a information mailbox to tell them no one
is available, try back in a few minutes Etc.
I'm pretty familiar with the systems but don't seem to be able to figure this
one out. Any tips would be appreciated, Thanks.
 
Try making a guest mailbox and use the message line feature. Put 031 in the message line and the mailbox will answer.

FYI if you dont like the mailbox answering.
If you assign the line to a hunt group and assign the HG to the sets, HG's ignore the forward no answer setting.

If you use a Norstar/BST doorphone you can also have the door phone page a chime over sets if nobody answers.

You can forward a set to a mobile phone too on your release of software.

Thanks or the suggestions, I don't know what the "message line" feature is.
Here is the question, is there a way to route an incoming call to a information mailbox.
one that will hang up after the announcement? Keep in mind that there is no dial pad on the
door box. thanks again.
 
Do as allworxguy suggested if you want calls to go to a mailbox, note I would be pissed if I get a mailbox at a gate and drive through the bloody thing, but that's just gentle me...lol

"message line"
I thought it was for DID's only but if not you will find it in Administration of Mailboxes.

If you created a subscriber mailbox 300 then look for message line and enter line 031 as allworxguy stated above.
Then as a user go into your mailbox and use the ALT greeting and Turn messages Off.

from what I read the "express message" line feature is for subscriber mailboxes.
I'm looking for a way to answer a call with a information mail box that doesn't take messages.
This is why I keep my hair short so I cant pull it too hard!
 
Do as I stated above.

The Alternate (ALT) greetings is used for vacations etc....when you use it you can specify if messages are allowed to be left or not, it will act the same as an info box.

The resolution was this, install an old 7208 in phone room, assigned it a subscriber mail box.
initialize the mailbox, use alternate greeting, set it to not take messages.
assign line 031 to appear and ring at that station, forward to mailbox after 6 rings.
Assign answer buttons to phones in office needing to answer the gate.
