Occasionally our users are getting the following error. At the time they get the error they are actively working within Ellipse.

"The host machine has dropped the connection to this PC. The following error occurred: (7) CTG ERROR - CICS Server or Client not active in SEND SINGLE PART, Code = AZI4 You will have to exit all applications on this connection and restart them."

We recently upgraded our CICS version to 5.0 PTF7.

Anybody have information?

Check your CICS setup and make sure your timeout variables are set correctly. If you need more email me mspencer@nespower.com

I can recreate this error when disabling the CUC service in a windows install of CTG - you might have a problem with CTG?

In Ellipse 6.1 with CICS: I get the following error EVERY TIME I attempt to submit MSB265 in our test environment. The error happens as soon as I hit OK on MSO080B screen

Ther error happens only on one of the test instances; the other one is ok. We have 2 different instances which sit on the same Unix box and share the same Ellipse source code.

"The host machine has dropped the connection to this PC. The following error occurred: (7) TXServer Error - Abend in Server Transaction from RECV Data, Code = AZI6. You will have to exit all applications on this connection and restart them."

Any ideas?

Is it only MSB265 that causes this error? what about other batch programs?

I noticed the problem on MSB265 and MSB25A; however I can submit and run ok MSB222 and MSB257!

That would make sense because MSB222 uses the Parameter Program MSO224 instead of MSO080C and MSB257 doesn't have any request parameters (does not use MSO080C either) hence these should work in your scenario. Try another program like msr010. If msr010 errors also then there is probably something wrong with mso080c, either a CICS program definition (unlikely) problem (also version issue if CICS has been restarted recently) or a screen definition file like ms0080c (or equivalent depending on the Ellipse client you are using).

In my comment above
"(also version issue if CICS has been restarted recently)"
I meant to say
"(also version issue if CICS has not been restarted recently)"
