I have a Startalk Flash connected to a CICS. I was asked to default and reprogram both which I did. The STF constantly resets the admin password. I can F983 into it using the default password for 3 digit extensions then when I try to go back in later I have to do a F985 to reset it first. When I use the defauklt PW I get an invalid password message. The same thing happens to MB 102. I set it to say 1234 and it works fine, then all of a sudden it is back to 0000. That's the only extension that it happens on. Is it related to the fact that 102 is the coordinator extension and MB?

Make sure you don't have a phone with extension 100 and 102

I have no extension 100 but I do have a 102.

Did you assign a different mbox number for that ext. 102, if not I'm sure that could be creating a problem. You should never have 102 be a mbox attached to a phone.

That's all the info I have. I need to assign ext 102 a different mbox. Probably assign extension 102 a different number as well.

If your DN's are in the 1XX range than create mailbox 202 and assign Ext as 102.

Only the reception or internal people would need to know this if they transfer via F983.

What is an STF? tell them to stop what ever it is they are doing?

Star Talk Flash. It keeps resetting the admin password. I reset it using F985 #9 then it goes back to 1020000. Then a fgew minutes later I try to loghin using that password and it says "invalid password" and I have to reset it all over again.l

Ok I thought you meant a human keeps resetting it.

In that case you have a bug....I have seen this before.
Do a REINSTALL and re-program from scratch to clear bugs and glitches.
