I have a CICS-SIP4.2 SW 6.06 currently set up with a NT7B75GA trunk card. (4 incomming standard analog trunk lines).

I want to add caller ID to this system. Do I just need to replace the NT7B75GA card with a NT5B41GA card?

How much reconfiguration would be needed of the CICS software? I have been through the CICS configuration, but I only do it once a year, so I'm definitely rusty.

Thanks for your suggestions and help.

Jeff

I do not have a parts list in front of me, but yes you would need a CLID card, if you currently have only a DS card.

There is programming involved. And the CLID programming does confuse a lot of people who are not familiar with programming. The lines must ring at the sets in order for CLID to appear before answering. If you have an AA, you must let the lines ring at least 1-2 times before answering in order to receive CLID.

The number of changes to your system will depend on how it is currently configured. That being said: It is always a good idea to get a vendor involved if you are not familiar with the programming.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Would the system tolerate a change in trunk card without loosing all the TS & VM configuration information, or will I have to reconfigure the entire system if I change cards?

Jeff

Power down and change cards.
No programming loss with this change since they are both loop start cards.
