CICS 7.1 and 7316e phones 1

I am having a problem adding 2 7316e phone's to a CICS w/7.1 software. It is showing no line appearance on the left side row and when I access programming from the set neither Heading or my Back arrow work. Under preferences it is seeing the 7316e. A regular 7316 works fine and has line appearance.
I was thinking I had a bad set but both are new and have identical problems. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem. Thanks

It would be weird that both phones would do this but mabe a stuck button. Run your hand over the buttons.

I have seen brand new out of the box 7316e's that had displays that were not properly seated inside tight enough. I was able to tell by pressing the bottom middle of where the LCD meets the housing plastic. Plug the phone in and on startup all the arrows should blink if you press where i said the should light up. I have seen that before and they are defective.
