All,

I am in the process of upgrading to a CICS 6.1 system, and need to know if the following can be programmed as a routing code (or some other process).

We have a private dialing plan (Dial 800 number, enter 7 digit phone number, then enter 10 digit pass code), and I want to know if I can set-up the CICS to do the following:

1) User dials 8 555 1212 (The 8 is to be used to seperate private dial number access from copper line pool access, which is 9).
2) System dials 800 number for private dial plan
3) System then dials user entered number (555 1212 stripping off the 8).
4) System then dials private dial access code

I have found where I can put the toll free number into the equation, however, I can not find a way to insert the access code after the user entered data.

Speed dial really is not an option since the seven digit private dial numbers are not consistent. Right now, users have the toll free number and the access code on speed dial, but they would like to see a better solution since we are going from an old Toshiba Strata VI to this "fancy new expensive" system... :)

Any ideas?

Thanks!

ok here is one way to do this
set up route XXX Dial out 1800xxxxxxx use pool X
set up destination code 8 absorb all route XXX
set up a personal speed dial code with access code OR
set up a System speed dial code if everyone uses same code OR
set up a autodial button with access code

user dials 8 555 1212 then waits for prompt then hits the autodial button/speed dial code.

Jerry,

Not quite the way I wanted to do it, but I guess that is the best I can do... :)

Everyone uses the same access code in the office, and I never thought of putting an actual speed dial button on all the sets for the code.

Hopefully they will be happier with that than what they used to do with the Strata VI.

Thanks for your help!

Problem is I cannot see how to insert a wait in your dial string on the route, you can have up to 24 characters but I didn't see pause there. plus the trim is on the front of the string not on the end. or middle.
