I just upgraded a CICS by adding the 8 port station card. When I configure a T7316 set to these ports the system sees them as M7310 sets. I disabled the sets and then enabled them......no change.....I removed the set phisically, disabled and enabled the port and then reinstalled the T7316 still no change. Has anyone crossed this bridge before? Thanks in advance.

to get the template you need 6.1 the phone will work fine only real issue is line/trunk buttons...they will appear as if phone is a 7310

You have a good point. I have T7316 on all of the ports. When i set the handsfree at auto, it puts a handsfree\mute button on the set. I didn't check the other sets to see if they are set to something other then auto. I was not the origional installer of the system. I assumed that because it was showing up as a M type set that was my problem. On the 6.1 systems i have installed, auto works with the mic and mute on the T7316. I know the E sets come up right. I will check it on Monday to see if 6.0 is the problem.
Thanks

When you use t7316E's on software lower than 6.1 the new HF button at the bottom of the phone becomes disabled. The HF appears on the lower right (button 10) like before. All software below 6.1 recognizes 7316's as M7310's. This is true if the extension is on the KSU's first 16, or the additonal 0x8 card.

User guide instructions below:

When using the middle button (speaker) at the bottom of a 7316E.

Press (speaker)
If you hear dial tone, (speaker) is the assigned handsfree button on your telephone.

If the display shows needs hands free, your administrator must enable the handsfree feature for your telephone in system programming.

If you hear an error tone, the handsfree feature is assigned to button 10 on your telephone.
