I have a customer with CICS 5.0 IRad answers but you cannot program remotely. I suppose it is restricted. Can I pull that PCMCIA card and replace with a 6.1 with Irad and proceed without programming? Or can I just put in a FastRad and be done with it?
You can go straight to 6.1 if your system is at 4.0 or higher. Going to 7.1 would require a pit stop at 6.1, then insert the 7.1.
As curlycord wrote, if the IRAD programming is available it should work. However, if the lines are VIOS or SIP there's not much chance of getting the IRAD to properly negotiate a connection. You'd likely have the same problem with a FastRAD.
I'm fairly sure it said CICS 5.0 from Remote Utilities. I don't remember what was on the PCMCIA card. Yes it is a CICS
When I connect through remote utilities remotely, operator assisted, no problmem there. I bring up a M7310. I login with standard password to change stuff and I get "SystemID...." only one triangle on SHOW.
I cannot go to Terminals and Sets and so forth. I am stuck there. If I press SHOW I get Keycode1:... (something like that, should have made notes!)
But when I was on site I made sure I noted the RAD password so that I could try the IRAD. RAD password is same as SystemID.
WIll be going back soon to get more details. Maybe try a fastrad. Unless you guys have some ideas.
Your symptoms show that the software is restricted, it wants you to enter a keycode to enable the IRAD.
The reason you can get as far as you do is so that you can enter the keycode remotely.
I cant stress how you need to get the SP codes when on site for the first time, which you can verify with my FAQ here
I keep a record of every clients Software version and/or including SP code, System ID and Serial numbers, trunks/sets/misc because a have a custom profile sheet I fill out every first visit.
