Hi, I have a CICS 4.1 with a 4 Port Flash 2.0.10 installed at a business. The system has 5 lines to ring and appear on all 10 sets. AA is set to answer on 4 rings. Here lately the system will have a call coming in and will be picked up at the first ring by the system or voice mail and when someone tries to pick up on the line set states in use by extension 253. I have checked programming and there is not an extension 253. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

it is a b2 channel

a flash 4 port will use 2 stations from the cics
each station has a b1 and a b2 channel

if you do a feature 985 it will tell you the first ext number
go into programming and in maintenance check that ext number
press the b2 button and it will show the next number
if you press the device button it should say startalk (or something like that)
if you change the names of these ext ,to vmail (or such)
then if they press the line button it will say "in use vmail"
and not the number

As to the answering on ring 1 instead of 4, check under Term&Sets to make sure the vm dn's have no lines ringing to them. Make them unassigned, or ring only.

Other than that, I'd look under f983/aa/lines to make sure you've got line 025 (not 005) programmed to answer at 4 rings, not 1.

Hi, Sorry for the delay. I have restored the Flash and set up the greetings and 2 of the 4 users have set up their voicemail so far.

Currently I have one problem with the system that I had 3 years ago and I am not sure how it was solved then. 3 years ago the business had 8 7310 phones and I changed one 7310 to a 7316 (non e). Sometime after leaving then the 7316's red light started to blink and would not stop for anything unless you pulled the plug on the system. The phone would later start blinking again. A new pair was pulled to the set and the AA was disabled at the owner's request and I believed then one of the two solved the problem until now. Since then the business now has 3 phones that have been replaced to the 7316 and when restoring the Flash I was ask to turn back on the AA for now. After the flash was setup and I made my first test call everything seemed to work fine until I noticed the 3 7316 phones all have the red lights flashing. There is not indication on the screen of any Messages.

Do you believe it is something with the Flash itself or the phone system?

Thanks for any help.

4 Port flash is on port 235 and 236
Flash Version 2.0.10
Phone System CICS 4.1 with 2 line cards.
