I have a CICS 220V. When I use a standard 110V on this unit it works fine. Does anyone know if I am doing any damage to the unit by using the 110V opposed to the 220 volt. Thanks in advance.
Components in the 220 P/S are designed to handled lower current needs than in the 110 version. P/S will overheat. Also this supply is not UL or CSA approved for operation in North America. If it causes a fire insurance will not cover damages. UNPLUG IT NOW!!!!!
If this CICS is actually designed for 220V operation I'm surprised that it even powers on. Maybe the label says 220V, but someone swapped out the power supply with a 110V?
I think Brian has it. when I was working overseas on of the signs someone had plugged their 220 sterio into the wrong power was lights barly seen and the electronics just not working.
If voting could really change things, it would be illegal.
