I am getting the following error message when I change any attribute of a user. It seems the "chuser" is corrupted or something. Which fileset(s) can be re-installed to fix the problem? Thanks!

COMMAND STATUS

Command: failed stdout: yes stderr: no

Before command completion, additional instructions may appear below.

exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program chuser because of the following errors:
0509-023 Symbol getauthdb in chuser is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol setauthdb in chuser is not defined.
0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have a valid form at.

Well I am not sure that checking the chuser command will do anything...
Can you add users, do anything with users..?

Sounds like someone changed a directory permissions, or went in and vi'd the
/etc/security or /etc directories for users...You can try running

Reports errors but does not fix them.
Make sure all of the user definitions are correct in the user database:
#usrck -n ALL

Do the same for the groups:
#grpck -n ALL

#pwdck -n ALL

------------------
lyons:/>#which_fileset chuser
/usr/bin/chuser bos.rte.security 5.1.0.0
lyons:/>#cd /usr/bin/
lyons:/usr/bin>#ls -la chuser
-r-sr-x--- 1 root security 56146 Apr 8 2001 chuser

Not sure what your level of aix is.......but I think you should also do
an lppchk -v and lppchk -c and see if you get errors.........

Also did anyone just add a user? Maybe you can remove the last user and see if it fixes your problem.....check filesystem space as well..and directory permissions...hopefully no one changed directories to 777 or you are in trouble.

I think your problem is bigger than just the chuser command...but I may be wrong.

Don't know if this is anything relevant, but from the man page:

"The chuser command manipulates local user data only. You cannot use it to change data in registry servers like NIS and DCE."
