Hi

I'm on the look out for a wireless network solution - just for my house.

The only requerment is that it support VPN(witch is neerly all of them)

The router will be set up in the basement, and I want to be able to go online on the 2. floor. (15 meters crossing 2 floors)

Thats meens that my biggest consern is the range of the products. And of cource the price :)

I've been looking at differen products.
D-link DI-624+ (very fast, but have been told that there can be problems with loss of connection and the range is not the best)

Linksys WRT54G (seems good and very cheep, but I'm conserned about the range - transmit power 15dBm)

Linksys WRV54G (A bit more expencive, but has a bigger transmit power 19dBm - and a lot of posibilities that I will never use :)

I don't even know it the transmit power says anything about the range?

Does anyboddy have any experince or knoledge about any of the 3 products, and for that matter other simular products.

Do you have any experince on how mutch this helps? - what is the normal mw (and what is mw)

18mw is the default, although the newest firmware uses 15mw.

mw=mili-watt

It helps a great deal.

Because of the third-party firmware support given the WRT54G router, it is the most flexible G router available today. Even with default firmware, it is the highest rated router in most reviews:
