When I use graphics in Quark, they print choppy unless I create them in illustrator at about 800% the needed size and then shrink in Quark. Even then, they still are not crisp. Does this have anything to do with postscript?

You should'nt have this kind a problem with Illustrator EPS files in Quark. What version of Illustrator are you using and how are you saving your files?

Are you using a postscript printer?

It sounds like you're not using a Postscript printer in which case all it does is print the rasterised preview picture of it.

This is produced at a fixed DPI so the only way to improve the resolution is to enlarge the original as you are doing.

If you have Photoshop you could open your eps files and convert them to rasterised PICT files at a decent resolution... or get a Postscript printer.

Make sure the image is updated and not missing. If the image
is missing then it will print choppie. Click on to the picture box then go to picture usage. if the picture is missing the search for it then update. it should print fine.
