I have a Sony DCR-TRV260 which I have successfully captured and edited video from once, but now have a problem I can't get past. I must have changed some settings somewhere, but now when I try to capture any video/audio, the audio becomes choppy after a few seconds (or sometimes immediately). I thought it was an audio capture rate issue, but I have literally tried every combination and nothing makes a difference - I'm thinking it needs to be at 44100, since that matches the other audio clips that I used successfully before, but that isn't working now. I keep thinking that it's just a simple setting somewhere but I just can't figure it out. If anyone has been up against this and has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate ideas. Thanks!

If you are capturing via FireWire, I doubt you have a settings problem.

How are you judging the choppy audio? If by listening on the computer during capture, then check to see if the replay is OK when capture is complete.

If the captured material is faulty, then it would be worth trying a new FireWire cable and/or a different player to help isolate the cause.
