I have a DB with a date field in it. Using Crystal Reports XI to create the report, I want users to be able to choose the Year using a Dynamic Parameter field and select all records from that year to be in the report.

I created a formula field using the Year function. However, only fields from the DB show up in the "Create New Parameter" dialog.

Any ideas on a work-around?

Thanks very much,

John

I don't really see why you wouuld want to do that. Why not just have the user enter the four-digit year? I would also create a SQL expression using the year function to make the report faster. Then you could just use a record selection formula like this:

{%year} = {?Year}
