Hello everyone,
It is common knowledge that there are several ways of accomplishing one task using Photoshop. Are there any suggestions about how to choose the best method?
An example:
An associate and I were asked to take a color photograph and give it an overall brown tint--like a duotone. My method was to add a hue/saturation adjustment layer. My associate's method was to desaturate the original photo, fill another layer with the brown color and drop the opacity.
Both looked about the same, but I wonder if in this case there might be a "better" way. If so, why? And are there other rules you all use to help you choose how to approach a task. Fewer layers are better? Smaller file size is better? Does it depend on the nature of the project each time?
Thanks for your smarts!
