Hello,

I am running OS 8.6. The machine connects to both Unix server and an NT 4.0 sever. It is working fine with the Unix server however when I try to connect to the NT server the machine locks up and i receive an error:

"chooser" bus error (restart)

I have to power the Machine off to restart...until recently I haven't had a problem connecting to either server...any sugestions?

thanks, Jim

Jim,

I'd want to know what's changed in the environment from the time the connect DID work until it did not.

Who's running the network? perhaps they've made some subtle changes.

Doesn't sound like your Chooser is corrupt since you are able to still connect to the Unix side.

According to the user nothing was changed on the actual machine...but this machine does not access the NT side of the network very often so I'm not sure when this problem may have started. I am running the network so i know nothing has changed there....I was able to select a server eventually by clearing the chooser cache while entering the chooser...but then another error message would pop up:

Error type 2

thanks again for your help!

Jim
