I have an excel file with 13 sheets/tabs. One sheet for each month, and one sheet as a "recap."
The twelve monthly sheets are identical, except for the data contained within, but the layout is identical.

On the recap sheet, I have a cell that is validated with a list containing the twelve months. Also, on this recap sheet, I have a pivot table that is pulling from one of the twelve monthly sheets.

My problem is this:
How do I update the pivot table based upon what month is chosen from the validated cell?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Your REAL problem is your woeful design. It is a drastic mistake to chop up your data into different locations. This is definitely NOT a professional approch to data storage.

Your BEST efforts would be to redesign your workbook, in order to store your data in ONE TABLE, what has an additional column for the DATE (month, and I am DEFINITELY referring to a REAL DATE. Could be the FIRST day or the month or LAST.)

From there, a monthly summary could be obtained in SECONDS, using absolutely no VBA code, via a PivotTable.
