Chinese character handling error

Hi there,

When I try to insert a row with chinese character '»\' with client machine win2k big 5 and postgresql in redhat 7.2, it reports error.

I've tried to initdb/create db in EUC_TW, EUC_CN, UNICODE, MULE_INTERNAL to test. And the problem remains.

Does anyone has similar experience?
