Okay I have absolutely no idea where to start on with this one.

Does anyone have a clue how to write a module that will kick out an MD5 checksum file based on an input directory (including sub folders) or perhaps have one already they don't mind sharing.

Any help at all would be massively appreciated.

How about using the Shell command to call a commandline utility to run your MD5? You can redirect the output to a file using the ">" redirectory.

You can find MD5 command line programs from fourmilab.ch, as well as a number of shareware sites.

If the 'advancced' search becomes operational, try it with key-word [checksum]. This has been EXTENSIVELY researched, discussed (and cussed) and revealed in these fora.

I guessed that might be the case, wasn't sure how long that might take though...

From a different forum, it was supposed to be ~ 1 Day from (sometime) Yesterday ~~~~ Today. On the other hand, software schedual 'estimates' seem to be headed in the same direction as the "Big Bang" (further away every tick of the clock?).
