Hi

We have:

Provisioning Gateways, provided on a Viritual cluster installed on IBM servers, a cluster. Here we have installed Provider ver 70.1 and uses the SmartProvisioning to push policies to customer gateways.

HP Proliant ML350 G6 servers with Checkpoint NGX 70.1 on customer networks.

One of the customers complaines every week about network loss. When we log on and do a "fw unloadlocal" we get to see the firewall from remote, but when we try to push policy, it fails with the message "SIC authentication failure". If we reset the SIC on both sides, everything is OK. For about a week. This is the 3'd week this has been going on now.

Has anyone seen this error before? Why does the firewall lose the SIC? If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

check that under the firewall manager policy that you have the correct firewall destination selected if the firewall is called fw-1 then check the firewall that it is applied to is also the same , placing a different firewall in there eg fw-2 will cause sic errors as the firewall will not be reachable to apply that rule.
