Checking voice mail messages remotely. 1

I have a customer with IP Office. We cannot figure out how to check voice mail remotely. I feel kind of stupid. Any body have any thoughts. I would appreciate it. I tried *7 *17 etc. but the main greeting just comes back on. Thanks

I am replying to my own message. I was able to figure it out and thought I would share it if any one needs it.

Call in to the main number. Dial the extension # of the phone you want to check the message at. When the personal voice mail answers dial * 7 extension number and #. You will prompted to enter the password. If you have a direct dial number you can call it. When the personal greeting answers follow directionms above. Hope this is helpful although I suspect most of you folks already new. Thanks for everyones help. Sincerely,

Create an incoming call route and select as destination 'Voicemail'.

It sounds like you might be using auto att menu? if so you could put in an option pointing to a get mail action.

No, he's right, I just went and did it.

Basically if your connected to Intuity emulation mode by any means to leave a message, press *7 to switch to collecting messages at which point you'll be asked for which mailbox, etc.

Very useful. You can also use *8 to enter an extension number for a transfer.

If you press # after leaving a message, these and other options are announced.

He is definately correct, but so are VOiDDude and Perv2 - you can create a backdoor by pointing a DID/DDI to "Voicemail" for easy checking of messages. And if you want to access voicemail from your main AA callflow simply add a TT choice to your primary menu token (I like to use *7 call me crazy) and link it to a get voicemail token. In that token select specific mailbox and enter "?". Either method is faster and easier than having to transfer to your mailbox, wait for your greeting, then press *7
