Hi all

I need to check what version of Service Pack is running on NT4 machines around a LAN.

I thought that there would be a way to do this through a login script but cant seem to find anything.

I was hoping that there was one file that if it existed meant it was SP6a or SP4 or whatever.....

But if I need to run an app, then thats fine, I just need to know the app :D

Any help greatfully appreciated.

Also, is it possible to distribute a service pack without Admin rights? I know it can be done with a Push client such as Winstall, but is it possible without this software?

Thanks again

To do it manually, theres the obvious way of waiting to see which one it says during boot up. Or go to START -> RUN and type winver.

To do remotely, I think you can go to Windows Diagnostics in Administrative Tools. On the menu, you can view a remote computer's details and somewhere in here it has the service pack (I think...)
