I have created a database which is hooked up to a an external database. As already known, if the address of the database changes everything stops working. In Access97 there is a sampel called "Soloutions" which is linked to the Northwind databse, each time it is opened the links to the backend are checked and refreshed. If the Northwind database is moved a dialog window pops up, the user is then on able to search for the new route. Once this is done the front end relinks the table/s. This would be great, but the codes/modules are not compatible in Access2000. Can anyone tell me how I can create something similar for this procedue in Access2000.

Thanks
Peps

Hi Peps, although you can change tons of things a very simple solution would be to go to (in VB) Tools-References, and add Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library. You may have to move its priority up or down in order for your 2000 Db to compile, but now you will be able to use the code from "solutions" with adjustments to point to your database of course. Gord
