Hi,

We will be receiving pgp email from a client and need to scan it for virus's. We have Mimesweeper and Groupshield on our servers that will of course block these emails.

Are their any products on the market that allow us to enter the key and decrypt the mail so it can be scanned for virus's.

What do others do when facing this problem. In our case the security is between the two companies, not two people. Would you let personal pgp mail into a building unscanned? If this is the case an answer to this problem must be needed?

Best wishes

Michael

To scan encrypted mails would open a big security hole on PGP, because the antivirustool had to know all private keys on that computer.

But that is not a real problem. I have Norton Antivirus 2000 on my System and because i am using the autoprotect feature the decrypted mail is scanned during creating the encrypted file i. e. storing the encrypted data to a Discfile.
