Hi,
I wish to find out if a server is using port 80.
so how do I check if the port is open or closed?

Thanks

connect to it with telnet use telnet like this on the command line:

telnet "servers.ip.address" 80

if you don't get connection lost(but a black window or something else), there is something on port 80

Or just stick its IP address in a browser!! Even if it's not hosting any web sites there's usally a standard page like the Microsoft web server front page or an Apache page!

Chris.
