Checking file in

I am having trouble checking a file i have edited back into sourcesafe. It will not allow me to do so. I hit Check in...fill out my checkin comment and then hit ok..and nothing happens. The file was in a folder that i had completely checked out and then recursively checked in, however this one file did not check in , so i tried it individually and it still wont check in...any ideas? thanks
