Hi

Is there a function that checks the fields type. I basically want to do a conversion but depending on the database backend the field is either a string or a date. I want to check the field type so i can then perform the correct conversion. However i cant find a function to do this . Does anyone no of one.

oh am using v8.5 of crystal

Thanks

John

Try Insert > Field Object. You'll get the Field Explorer, choose database fields. If they don't show their type, right-click and select the option.

Rolling the mouse over the field should also allow you to see the datatype in the resulting tooltip.
