Checking extension VM while logged in?

I have agents who claim they were able to check their extension VM while logged in as agents. This ability suddenly went away and now when they dial in to VM they get prompted to enter the number of the party they wish to reach (Callegra) instead of the password for their extensions VM box. How can I make it possible for them to log directly into their extension VM boxes without having to logout of their skills?
