Checkboxes on Databound fields only working once then locking 1

I have a 2003 sql server database which I'm pulling back data into Access, all is working fine except for the checkboxes, I'm binding all the fields.
When I click on a checkbox it will check but then when you try to uncheck it nothing happens. If I make the checkbox unbound it works fine. Am I going to have to have the checkboxes unbound and if so how will I populate these fields on the database? I'm using the record selector arrow buttons.
