CheckBox works in IE6, IE5.5, but not in IE5 - Why?

Hello,
This is an unexpected error. Kindly help.

We developed a bunch of HTML pages. We were developing the pages in Windows 2000 Machines using NetObjects Dreamweaver + Interdev and we all use IE5.5 and above..


But when we showed these pages to the customer, during the demo, two check boxes alone weren't working... I mean, when we clicked those boxes, it won't show checked.

We were shocked and somehow managed to finish the demo.. Those two check boxes are crucial in our scheme of things.It felt bad.. When we checked the version of IE in the client's machine it was 5.0.

All we had were two checkboxes.Why would it make such a difference, that too among IE Versions ?

If anyone has encountered this issue, please...help us. Thank you...
