Suggestions requested: I am using forms with many check boxes. . .I can print an "X" to the report(s) using "print if true" function. . . works great. . .would like to use the checkbox symbol on the report just like the screen "form" appears. . ."a true check" and not an "X". . .any way to do this?
Thanks for your help in advance, its deeply apprecaited!

From SMC: Was able to workaround. . .using fonts Dingbats and the keystroke number 4. . .

SMCmtg, that sounds like a good FAQ entry. Its one that we'll say "why didn't I think of that", but it doesn't immediately spring to mind when posed with the question.
Robert Bradley

<a href= - Visual FoxPro Development
SMCmtg,
Whats that font again? I dont have one listed as 'Dingbats'. Where did you get it?

Jon

To Jon & Robert Bradley:
It was in the southwest corner of my head. . .I just needed to drive up and down the Interstate to find it. . .!
The font that I used was ZAPFDINGBATS, "Bold 10". . .(from my drop down list. I typed every keystroke (courier) on the board (small and caps) in a long label. . .and then thru process of eliniation of changing it to all the various fonts was able to find keystrokes, the number 3 and 4 gave "checks" of differing styles. . .)
I'm not sure whether that is in Fox6 or the windows enviro or comes from a Adode upload. . .any way it was in my list. . one can only wonder how or where all the zillion fonts/styles are used. Thanks for & appreciate your feedback(s). . .

One word of caution, SMCmtg: if it is not a font that comes with Windows, you cannot count on it being on the end-user's computer. If this is an in-house app, then obviously it makes no difference. But if it is an app that is for an external client, it is an issue you may have to deal with.
Robert Bradley

<a href= - Visual FoxPro Development
Is WingDings free domain? Can it be distributed with your apps? I know M$ specifically states True Type fonts cannot be but what if it's a third party's TTF and they make it avaiable free?

John Durbin

<a href= Certified Professional VFP Programmer
ICQ VFP ActiveList #73897253

Hey John,
Didnt you recently take the 70-155 or 156 for your MCP? How did it go? What did you think of the test?

Jon

I took 156 in beta; a tough test, as you need to be a well-rounded Microsoft developer.
Robert Bradley

<a href= - Visual FoxPro Development
To: John Durbin's/Robert Bradley's previous question dated June 8 I don't know the answer to your question. . .I'm using the font out of Adode for in-house software but
would be curious to know that answer what to use in the public domain.

Bill McCarthy

There is an accessory that I use a lot called Character Map. This accessory comes with Windows9x, but it is not loaded by default. (Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Windows Setup). This accessory shows every character available in each font. Mine shows Wingdings (comes with Windows) with a checkbox symbol @ ALT+254. I use these symbols all the time in reports.
Mike Wood
mwood@awod.com
