Is there a way to check the visitor's computer for an installed font. This is a secure site that they will know the reasoning for it, so security is not an issue. thanks.

Not in PHP, you'd need to do some sort of client side scripting, like Javascript. There is a Javascript forum and this question was discussed there within the last few weeks.

P.S. Creating a site that requires a certain font is very poor web design.

I actually have a php script that can generate barcodes from strings.. (different types too)..

shout out if you be wantin' it.

In general though Eric is correct, I've only ever done it for a corporate font on an intranet.

FEATURES
* Different barcodes types supported: Currently Code 3 of 9, Interleave 2 of 5,
Standard 2 of 5 and Code 93.
* Different image formats supported: JPG, PNG, GIF, WBMP.
* Barcode size control: width of bars, height of bars, intercharacter gap, wide
to narrow ratio.
* Barcode style control: inverted barcode, text label, image rotation, check
digit.

I was thinking of using this for member-cards, as I then can use a unique value for making the barcodes.

eg. I was planning to use sprintf() to manipulate:
1 -> 00000000001
2 -> 00000000002
22 -> 00000000022
etc.. so it would pad the value with 0
(userid)
