Check version of BIND 1

How do I check exactly which version of Bind I´m running.

Using SunOS 5.7 if it matters.

Where can I find the latest/safest version of Bind?
Bind 8 that is.

you can use this to check bind version.
#strings /usr/sbin/in.named |grep BIND

lastest version of bind 8 series is 8.2.4 released 17 may 2001, bind 9 is now at 9.1, released 3 july 2001, you check this and more and get bind from:

http://www.isc.org/products/BIND/
