I currently have a computer program which e-mails my a users manager when they request to do so. However, I also need it to check for responses. Now I have written the code to do this, but because my company is still using Office 97, I can't put the code in Outlook, so have to base it on a timer in Access. I currently use the MAPI system, and it works fine. It basically opens up the current users inbox and reads all e-mails in it.

What I want to know, is can I set up Access to Check a specific E-mail account on our Exchange server. I am looking to create an e-mail address specifically for this program, but don't know if I can code it in. Any ideas?

Thanks - that will be useful - but will it only work on my computer? I need to to work on any computer - and don't really want to have to instal it on each machine. I assume it's just a wizard, but am currently working on trying to get it to run

You don't perchance know of there being any other way around? I have heard mention of the possibility of connecting a public folder to an e-mail address - would I be able to access the folders contents (i'm trying to find work-arounds to having to update over 400 computers, which won't be easy)? Any ideas as to another route?

The idea is that the manager can send an e-mail, and the system picks these up. I am trying to stop the chance of users changing/deleting the response before the system can get to them.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, but thank you MP9 - your idea I am still looking into.
