Greetings,

We are about to use a check reader as an input device to our web enable system. The check reader data can be accessed using the serial comm port. There are no drivers or installers needed to run the check reader.

Is there a way that we may be able to get the data from the clients' serial comm port?

Hope to receive answers from you...

Thanks in advance!

The only way I can think of is using an ActiveX control. And then you'd pretty much be limited to IE and Windows.

I don't think even a java applet could do it... but I could be wrong about that one.

Are you sure there are no drivers required?? That would be very unusual for a customized serial port device. Hope it helps,
-Carl
