Gents;
We've used telnet to log onto our host AIX system for some time and incorporate tcp wrappers for IP security. We have installed a new user and when a connection to the internal server IP we receive the message "session disconnected by remote host". The IP of the client is in the same subnet as the AIX machine, tcpd gets started from inetd and the config is directing to telnetd as expected (other users can logon OK). This client's IP is defined in the /etc/hosts.allow file and I cannot think of what else might be causing the disconnect. We don't even see a logon prompt before seeing this message.
Can anyone add to the checklist of items to research?
Thanks,
B
