OK I know everyone is going to say that’s easy and it is, if you assume that because you have a LAN connection that the server is connected to the Internet continuously. I have three client types Modem connection, LAN connection to a Server continuously on line and a LAN connection to a Server that only dials up now and then.

I need to know if someone on a LAN is connected to the NET or not if I send a ping to check for a connection then this initiates the auto dial and makes a connection, I cannot do this.

Does anyone have a bit of code to help decide the status of each of these connection types?

Thanks in anticipation
Chris
